the design

There’s a whole lot of hollow inside this guitar
But it’s there for a reason it’s there by design
Without the hollow the sound could not resonate
Without the hollow the notes could not shine

There’s a whole lot of empty inside this cathedral
And its walls are as cold as stone
Yet your voice will carry through all the chambers
Filling every void space with a beautiful tone

There’s a whole lot of lonely inside this heart
But it’s there for a reason it’s there by design
Without the lonely God’s voice would not resonate
And His love you would not find

Hey Chad
That's a beautiful poem. Is it yours?

Yeah, but it was the songwriting genius of David Wilcox spawned the idea. His song, "THAT"S WHAT THE LONELY IS FOR", compares the human heart to a mansion that is impossible to keep warm and thus explains why we are always searching for more. In some ways we are made to be lonely. Thanks for the comment.

DW is one of my all time favorite musicians. I've seen him in concert twice, but that was many years ago.
